Things I do to make marketing easier for neurodivergent business owners

A lot of my clients feel anxious about working with someone who doesn’t work in a way they need. This can prevent people from getting help with tasks that may be draining them!

But as a neurodivergent person myself, I know how important it is to protect your energy to prevent burn out + loss of interest.

Here’s some of the things I do to make things easier for my neurodivergent clients!

✅ Weekly summaries

❌ No more wondering what’s going on or awkward check-in e-mails.

I send a weekly summary to each client, confirming:

  • What I’m working on
  • What I need from them
  • Wins from last week

Clients love this level of clarity, so they know exactly what’s going on + no pressure to ask awkward questions.

✅ Everything organised + in one place

❌ No more hunting through e-mails!

I invest in a CRM which is super easy to use and includes a Client Portal for each client.

This puts everything we need in one shared place, from contracts and invoices to project work.

✅ Subscriptions (no auto-renew!)

❌ How many subscriptions have you forgotten about? Same. 🥲

For my unique marketing subscription service, I don’t auto-renew until you’ve confirmed you want to go ahead.

✅ Clear instructions and formats

❌ No more ‘so…what do you need me to do again?’

I always write clear instructions / proposals over e-mail so you can reflect and refer back as much as you need.

✅ Person first, business second

❌ No pressure tactics. No rush.

Each client matters to me as a person first. I take time to understand your needs and then act accordingly. I give time for reflection and never rush people into decision-making.

✅ Energy-friendly marketing ideas

❌ No churn here.

I know how important it is to protect your energy as a neurodivergent biz owner. That’s why I tailor marketing tasks to your energy levels and interests.

I actively encourage creative ideas outside of social media that can actually feel fun – say whaaaaat!?

✅ Communication preferences

During onboarding, I ask about your communication preferences and any accessibility ideas that I can implement.

  • Don’t want to do Zoom calls? No problem.
  • Prefer talking over e-mail? Fine by me!
  • Want to show up to meetings in your pajamas? Same! 🧦
